Vern, What really makes it bad is you are a sys-admin and you should know better about backing up vital data... ; ) OGD ________________________________

I haven't TOUCHED my DTXpressII for about 4 months or so, and I decided to sit in front of it tonight and bang out some aggression... I switch it on, and voila! factory defaults... cr@p! All custom my kits? gone. All the tweaks that overcame the problems I had? gone. I guess it got a static discharged at some point or my 2 year old figured out how to reset the module (she sits in front of it more often than I do!) Do I have a backup? heck no... Should I have done one? heck yes. Has my brain efficiently erased all my knowledge of how to tweak this thing to make it playable? OHHHH yeah... It's times like these I miss my acoustic set. Even when unplayed and covered with dust, I could at least get some decent sound out of it. Something very visceral about actually hitting something.. HARD. The way my DTXpressII is right now, the hi-hat is hardly audible no matter how hard I hit it, I'm getting intermittent response on the kick and the snare gives me rim shots at the weirdest times. I'm so depressed. I think I'll go to bed. cr@p... yeah I know I already said that but... well... CR@P!!! Vern (aka Frustrated in Austin) PS: Sad to think I'm actually a moderator of this group AND the host for the dtxpressions.com site... Ironic, isn't it? :P ______________________________________________________________________ This email has been scanned by the MessageLabs Email Security System.
