Roland dual-trigger pad + Magic Box

Roland dual-trigger pad + Magic Box

2005-06-20 by rust_preacher

Ok, so I am in Manchester England and walk into Sound Control... Coming
out I am carrying a Roland PD-80R dual-trigger pad. I get home the next
day (nightmare on SAS) and plug it in the DTXpress I snare input (using
the mono cable). Voilá, works like a dream.

OK, to get the rim shot sound, I will build Keith's magic box. Looking
at the schematic it seems it will make sense to use two stereo jacks
instead of 2 mono and one stereo. Also, looking at the posts it most
likely also makes sense to use a 1 meg trimmer in series with a 100 k
resistor in place of R2.

Any other suggestions before I fire up the soldering iron? Anybody out
there, have you rigged a Roland pad on the DTXpress this way?

Jyrki

... and probably drop R1 to something like 10k.

Keith.

New member and newbie questions

2005-06-20 by Davide R.

Hi guys
I'm a newbie with a DTXIII... I would like to improve my set with something
better. I'm thinking about real crashes, real hit hats... what do you think?

Plase also answer this: can I use roland Pads with yamaha drum modules and
viceversa?
thanks
david
