RE: Spam:[DTXpress] Two Quick Questions

RE: Spam:[DTXpress] Two Quick Questions

2005-10-03 by Damon, Rob

Blakecell,

The input on the KP65 is for another mono zone pad (like the
PCY65/TP65,etc.). But to use it, you must move it from input no. 1 to
input no. 9/10 and you must you a stereo cable between the KP65 and the
module. Only a mono cable is required between the KP65 and the second
pad.

One thing to consider when adding pads to the Dtxpress II, is not to
limit yourself to "just using input 9/10".

From the factory, inputs 1,3,4,5 are stereo 2-zone inputs that only have
mono 1-zone pads connected to them. Input 6 is a stereo 3-zone input
that only has a mono zone pad connected to it. Input 7 is a stereo
3-zone input that only has a stereo 2-zone pad connected to it. Input 2
is a stereo 3-zone input that is fully using all 3-zones with the TP65S.

If you move the your KP65 (kick) from input 1 up to input 9 and move
your PCY65 (ride) input 6 up to input 10, you will free up a stereo
2-zone input no. 1 and a stereo 3-zone input no. 6.

IF you now move the PCY65S (crash) from input 7 down to the now free
input no. 1, you will free up a stereo 3-zone input no. 7.

Thus you now have two free stereo 3-zone inputs no. 6 & 7 to take
advantage of instead of two free mono zone inputs no. 9/10. This means
you can add two PCY150S three zone cymbal pads or two TP100/TP120/TP65S
drum pads.

You will have to use only user defined kits once you make this
rearrangement though.

As mentioned if other posts, what you would normally need for splitting
out input 9/10 is an insert cable, that splits a stereo jack to a mono
left and a mono right jacks. But you do not really need one, because the
KP65 has one built into it.

Subject: Spam:[DTXpress] Two Quick Questions

I have the DTXpress II. I have two fairly (probably asked a lot)
questions. I want to utilize my number 9/10 input for a tom and
another pad (single zone). Is this the correct splitter for that?

My other question; Is there any use for the input on the KP65 kick
pad? I am assuming that its to add another kickpad, but can it be
used for anything else? Possibly another other pad?

Thanks a lot,
Blake
