pcy65s

Hey guys,
Anyone out there been having problems with the pcy65s mute function
kicking in when not wanted? Mine was working great, now when I strike
to get the edge sound its instantly muting the sound. This is on just
one of them. I've bought more, and have two 65s and two 65.I'm using
a glancing blow, I noticed when I first started playing my set that
you couldn't let the hit "stick" or it would mute. But now it's like
its got a mind of its own. Is there an adjustment to the mute so I
can adjust it out so it won't do it on its own. I was jamming in the
garage with some buddies when it started now it seems like it won't
quit doing it. HELP!
Thanks,
Jeff
P.S. I did a search on here but it doesn't find anything.

I think it might be the self rejection setting...
I noticed that when I set mine to ... (off) it stopped muting itself.

I don't know how to set the self rejection to "off" it goes from 0
to 9, 0 being the least amount of rejection. I tried increasing the
value but it only increases the time before it will allow the pad to
trigger again. I'm beginning to think that it is intrinsic to the
rubber and ribbon switch design. It doesn't really start self
rejecting until I've played for about 30 minutes while practicing. I
think that the edge may be "setting" a depression into the rubber over
the course of playing and creating a ribbon always depressed
situation. I strike the edge more on the 2 zones which I have set as
crashes. If I leave it set up and come back in a day it's gone then
reappears. I noticed that during practice that maybe the same thing
happened to the pad while it was packed up transporting it to the jam
session where it seemed to start choking right from the start. Just
rolling it around in my head. I tend to get alot more agressive when
playing with the guys than practicing alone with the headphones.
Anyone else got any theories? Similar problems or fixes? I really
like the 2 zones, and would hate to downgrade to singles. From what
I've read, there is no way to turn off the choke function.
