RE: Spam:[DTXpress] DTXpress I, II & III - Comparison

Welcome,

You can download the manuals for all three kits at Yamaha's Japanese
website. You'll find that the modules were only incremental in upgrades.
The basic difference between the I and the later versions, is the
support of three zone pads are available on the II and III versions. The
sounds were incrementally upgraded between each generation of modules.

The II and III(std) share the same pads
(TP65S,TP65,PCY65,PCY65S,HH65,KP65). The IIIsp replaced the PCY65 series
with the newer round versions (PCY130/PCY130S/PCY150S) and the HH65 was
upgraded to a RHH130. The I has TP60, PCY60 pads which are very similar
to the TP65/PCY65 pads. The 65's have a little more rebound than the
60's series. The KP60 was a problem for some and is the new KP65, it
seemed to be a hit or miss situation. The earlier PCY pads were more
prone to "self-choking", but by changing your striking technique

The II and III added some additional braceing in the frame from the I.

Subject: Spam:[DTXpress] DTXpress I, II & III - Comparison

Hi, I am new here and currently considering to get myself a set of e-
drums in the 2nd-hand market. The Yamaha kits impress me a lot (I
tried it at shop the other day...DTXpress III that was). Is there a
detail comparison available somewhere on the subject models? I am quite
keen to find out before i make a decision (considering between DTXPRESS
I and III at the moment...the original one is cheaper of cos).

Many thanks.
