Transmitting DTX III MIDI data to Roland BR1200 CD

Hi All, What's the trick to transmitting recorded MIDI effects to the studio? I have read the DTX III pdf's and I can confirm that all the settings are correct in order to transmit the data..It seems to me that the two devices are not synched up as the BR1200 displays the following message.."Waiting for Clock". Help!!! Thanks, Midiuser_001
