I too find most the standard kit crash's to be very wussy, especially
through headphones (see my previous post). I have played with the
level pot on the underside of the trigger itself to get it sensitive
enough for light work, and you can up to the minimum velocity in the
trigger setup to increase the level at the expense of dynamic range.
For the snare, I was playing with the trigger setups last night and
found that increasing the gain from the default 60 to 85 and reducing
the minimum velocity made it a lot more sensitive to light strokes
and still put out a reasonable sound when hit hard.
I would be very interested to hear what non-default trigger settings
others have adopted to get the best out of their kit, especially for
in-apartment practice.
