Help! I need to know how I can load some kits into my DTxpress III

Help! I need to know how I can load some kits into my DTxpress III

2006-08-28 by TF

I am new to electronic drumming, and as I understand it I can load
some kit files onto my DTxpress unit which I can get from others here.

Can someone please explain to me how I can do this and what I need to
connect to my unit? I would like to try it but I don't know how.

Please be as discriptive as you can.

Thanks

Tony

Tony,

I cannot be very descriptive because I rarely do it, but I think you
need two things to load kits to your DTXpress - software and a cable
to connect a computer. The DTXchange software on the DTXpression site
http://www.dtxpressions.com/files/DTXchange.zip should allow you to
upload kits. You will need either a midi or null modem cable to
connect to the DTXpress.

Tony,

this should help ...

only thing which would stop it from working with your
DTXpress is the midi setup button.

you can use Yamaha UX16 usb/midi interface or a cheaper interface

set the input and output ports to Yamaha USB in 01 and out 01.

Load the kit into program and selected send.

The kit sends to DTXpress and then I store it into a user memory

Hope this helps

(This seemed to end up in my email from Celtic Warrior and not posted
here, so I have copied it here - after posting it in reply to the
wrong thread first, sorry - Keith.)

Will these kits work with my DTxpress III?

Does this only use download the parameters or will it
actually allow me to download some more sounds for my
unit?

Yes, it works with the DTXpress III. I cannot remember exactly, but I
have loads of kits on my DTXpress III that I downloaded from here.
There may be some issues about the mapping of voices/kits between the
DTXpress II and III. Maybe someone can help out here!??

Keith.
