I love my DTXpress

I love my DTXpress

I just thought it was about time to send out an encouraging message about
how good the system is. It's fab. I've had my DTXpress for 9 months now and
it has revolutionised my practising and playing. If you want to play drums
and you're limited by noise go out and buy a DTXpress. It was the best £699
I've spent.
I practise loads, I can just go and play for 5 minutes anytime without
disturbing anyone. I can practise along with a CD or just play for fun.
There's loads of stuff I haven't even tried yet so if you fancy fiddling
around there's always something new to try. For example I set up a kit with
two snares, a tight snappy one and a deep whacking load one, I then spent at
least an hour just trying out new rhythms and fills. Nice.
My only gripe is the cymbals don't have anything like the dynamic range I
want when I'm playing live.

Ben

Re: [DTXpress] I love my DTXpress

I had an idea but I don't know how practical it is.
Wouldn't it be great to set up an area where members
of this group can upload MP3 recordings of them
playing their DTXpress. I'm especially interested in
live recordings - it's be good for new and old members
to check out how the kit sounds live. It'd also be a
good reference for people thinking about buying the
DTXpress (not that I want to help Yamaha increase
sales, you understand..)
I've got several good recordings of me and my band to
start with. Maybe we could even set up a "Battle of
the Bands" and/or submit votes. Could it work? Where
to put these MP3s? Anyone got any workable suggestions?
