Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hi all,

I use BFD as a drum synth, and found that the DTXPress III does not 
send the assigned MIDI note of a choke (on crash cymbal) to my 
sequencer (Sonar).
I know I can set up which note to transmit in the Voice setup, but no 
matter what I change it to for the choke - I can HEAR the choking when 
playing with the sound of the DTXPress III but it keeps sending the 
same note as when hitting the crash cymbal).
Isn't this a bug - and if it has been corrected (say by a new firmware) 
how would I install this new firmware?

I don't use BFD, but your post rings a bell. BFD can handle chokes as 
aftertouch, can't it?  That may be one way to go about it. With the 
Fade function, you should be able to choke using MIDI Note On/Off or 
aftertouch. Can't you set the length of a decay via Fade when you 
grab a cymbal?
