DTXpress 3 newbie - Problems with volume

DTXpress 3 newbie - Problems with volume

2007-04-05 by nbpdrum

Hi all,

Have recently purchased the above and after about two hours of playing,
for no reason, the volume of all pads has decreased to the point of me
almost not being able to hear the sounds at all. The problem is not
fixed by performing a factory reset and appears to have also affected
the sound of the drums when listening to the built in songs. It almost
sounds as if there's loads of reverb which is whiting the sound out -
I've tried bring this level right down but then the noise heard is even
quieter.

I'm at a total loss! Any suggestions?

Thanks

nbp

Sounds wierd. Have you tried more than one output source (i.e.
headphones in the front socket, line out from the 1/4" jack on the
back)? Did it happen suddenly or was it gradual? Were you twiddling
anything at the time?

I had a strange volume problem when I got a new PA. It was caused by
the fact that the PA could accept a differential (balanced) input and
I used the left mono output from the DTXpress, but with a stereo
cable. This left the other end of the balanced input floating. A mono
cable fixed the problem.

I assume you have tried turning all the volume controls up (not just
the master volume)?

There is a volume mode (practice & live) page 30 of the reference
manual, although if you have turned up all the controls, you should
have eliminated that.

Keith.

All sorted! The problem was with the 6mm adaptor I was using for the
headphone jack!

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
