New Member hello and DTXpress 1 Question

New Member hello and DTXpress 1 Question

2007-05-04 by Tom

Hi
I have a DTXpress 1 Frankenstein drum kit... our old kit(Yoki) fell on his brain and died so I
went on Ebay and got a DTXpress brain to resurect it.... It lives!

Everything seems to work properly except the hi hat, and we havn't figured out how to use
the 9/10 inputs for extra pads. We have hi hat problems as our pedal(Yoki) is incompatable. I
have a regular hi-hat stand and have been trying to find out if the RHH130 hi hat will work
like it's supposed to with it and the DTXpress 1. (I have delayed buying one as I still don't
know if it will work right!) I have seen posts here of people doing this with the DTXpress 2
and 3 and the RHH130 but no one has explained their experiences with this setup!
(theoreitcal expressions just don't cut it).

Is anyone here using a DTXpress 1 and the RHH130 hi hat? I would love to hear your
experience with this and any pitfalls we should avoid? Please step up and tell us how it has
worked for you? There is seems to be no setting on the DTXpress 1 for the RHH130 hi hat? I'd
love to see some work around settings for this.

Thanks
Tom

You need a Y splitter which takes one stereo jack and has two mono
sockets. Then you can add two extra pads to the 9/10 input.

Hey Keith
I went and tried it yesterday using one of the other pads and it worked like it was supposed
to! Now I need to get some more pads... I was thinking of using a 2 zone or 3 zone pad for
the snare(will the dtxperss 1 run a 3 zone?) and using the extra for something else like
another tom or a cowbell.
Thanks
Tom

Tom,

As far as I know, the DTXpress I doesn't have 3 zone inputs. I quite
like the TP100S as a snare, on a separate snare stand, although I am
currently using my Pintech Concertcast as the snare.

Keith.
