dtxpress, has anyone tried using a usb to midi connector on an
oldschool dtxpress...let me know!

Hey Scott

I've got a DTXpress 1 and regularly use a MIDI-USB lead to transfer
MIDI and record to and from my PC. Initially, I had loads of trouble
using a Midisport Uno. However since using an Edirol cable, I've
been virtually problem free. Seems that all DTXP's are sensitive to
the selection of cable. The Yamaha equivalent, while not
particularly well regarded in the wider MIDI community, apparently
works fine with Yamaha equipment. So the conclusion is that if
you've set up everything correctly as you say you have, it could be
a cable issue - try buying a decent quality one (I'd certainly
recommend the Edirol at around £30 from www.dolphinmusic.co.uk)

Also, search the archives here for more info - there's quite a few
people who have gone throught he the same sort of grief!

Hope this helps...

Tony

Yep tried that out, my usb cable has a built in driver, so I couldn't
load the new one. Thanks anyway.

Thanks Tony,

I tried everything else so it must be the cable. I'll have a scan on
the net for the cable you recommended. So a yamaha cable will work too?
