Import Roland Drum sounds to DTXPRESS?

Import Roland Drum sounds to DTXPRESS?

2008-12-15 by strawmanind

Hello all

Sorry if this was covered in another post - I've searched but haven't
found what I am looking for.

I have a DTXPRESS drum brain with the original DTXPRESS electronic
kit. I want to take advantage of the internal sequencer to record a
loop for my band's live performance. The problem is, til now I have
played the loop live with a Roland SPD-20 percussion pad, and I
haven't been able to find corresponding sounds in the DTXPRESS. What
I would like to do is either:

A) Export the sounds I use on the Roland to a User Defined Kit in the
DTXPRESS (and then use the sequencer in the DTXPRESS brain to record); or

B) Use the DTXPRESS sequencer to record the sounds I generate on the
Roland.

I've looked thru both manuals and it seems to be possible, but I am
awfully new to MIDI save for hitting the pads. If anyone can help or
point me in the right direction, I would REALLY appreciate it!

Thanks

S

You cannot change the sounds in the DTXpress so you cannot do what you
are suggesting. The only possible solution is to use the midi in the
DTXpress to trigger sounds in something else (PC or SPD-20) but I am
midi illiterate, so I am not sure how you would do that (if it is
possible).

Keith.
