2009-06-16 by bigbearindy@ymail.com

Just got my new ExpressII ¨ so Im a noob. I can't seem to get the dual zone cymbals to trigger (2 different sounds- only one) AND the crash will not choke. Same problem with the 3 zone snare¨ It only triggers one sound. ! help -
What am I doing wrong.. ? wrong connection to brain or is it a cable or programming issue??

First, make sure you have stereo cables to the pads. Second - do a factory reset. I guess you have bought it second hand so who knows what all the settings are. To do a factory reset, see page 30 of the Reference Guide. If you don't have the manuals (there are two - the Reference Guide and Basic Guide) you can download them from here: http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/english/ just type dtxpress in the search box.

If that doesn't fix it, let me know and I will try to help.

Keith.

The PCY65S is dual zone, the PCY65 isn't. There should be a label underneath. Also, the dual zone one has a line in the rubber around half an inch in from the rim.
