questions about my new dtxpress 3

questions about my new dtxpress 3

HI gang. My dtxpress will arrive next week.

A few questions that I would like to ask. I am considering replacing the snare with a 10" tp10. Is that a good idea? ANy thoughts would be appreciated.

ALso it has 1 single and one dual zone cymbal. Is that alright? Can I add a triple zone pad to that or can I add only a double zone or indeed can I have 3 double zone cymbals?

Is there a good replacement option for the hi hat pad for something a bit more realistic that you guys use?

ANy thoughts and experiences would be appreciated either posted or emailed.

I have only just joined the group and havn't recieved my kit yet so I am in this nervous excited stage, like a child on xmas eve.

Thanks in advance

TP100 is a nice upgrade I think. I use one on a snare stand. Make sure you get a snare stand that will go small enough if you go that route. I don't know what the TP10 is (a triping mistake?).

All inputs on the DTxpress III are dual zone except for 2, 6 and 7 which are 3 zone. So, yes, you can have two 3 zone cymbals.

I never liked the TP65 as a hihat. I swapped to a PCY65s almost straight away (dual zone).

If you do upgrade you can use the old pads as an extra tom, another ride or china etc.

Keith.
