Combining DT pads with acoustic drums

Combining DT pads with acoustic drums

2001-11-28 by cisum64@excite.com

I have recently set up my DTXPRESS unit and pads to intermingle with
my acoustic drumset. I love the setup (inspired by Akiro Jimbo) but I
have a problem with the acoustic drum vibrations triggering
electronic sounds. In other words, when I hit my acoustic bass
drum/mounted toms, etc., I hear the patches from my electronic pads.
I have messed around with the GAIN and MVEL settings, but I still
have this trouble.

Any suggestions from the fine folk out there would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott

My experience with that problem was sloved by putting a thin layer of
duct tape on the mounting post for the pad, if you don't play too
hard the duct tape should absorb enough of the shock. Be careful when
taking the pads on and off the mount because the tape get very messy
when not taken care of. -Joe
