BP80 instructions?

BP80 instructions?

2001-12-27 by jpmarshall62

Does anyone know if there is an online version of the BP80 (bar pad)
user manual or configuration instructions? I recently bought a used
DTX and I'm having some difficulty getting the BP80 to trigger
seperately on each pad.

hello i'm not sure about if there's an online manual out there for
the bp80's i have 2 of them myself on my kit,but have you noticed
where you plug the cable into the bp80 that there are to small holes
(one on each side of where you plug the cable in a) one is marked
a,and one is marked b..now both them have a + and - location on them
and are adjusted by a tiny phillips screw that is down in each
whole.. if you adjust these more to the minus side,it may help you
out on the crosstalking that it happening to you with the bp80,also
here's a link for adjusting the settings in your module as well ,i
found that i had to do this on my kit to eliminate the cross talk
that was happening
http://www.yamaha.co.jp/english/product/drum/dtx/ct.html

hope this helps you with the problem,

also you may want to make sure that both of the triggers are actually
responding when struck ,you can see this by pushing the voice button
on your module, when you hit each trigger area on the bp80 the module
will show which trigger was hit on its readout

One more thought - offered only to be sure we're covering all of the
basics, be sure you are using a balanced (stereo) cable on inputs
9/10 only. Walt

I was able to get the BP80 working today. First of all, my cable was
not stereo, so i replaced it (duh). Then I was able to make the
necessary adjustments to eliminate the x-talk thanks to your help.
Thanks especially to Walt (for your advice) and John M. "jmateszon"
(for emailing me the scanned manual). I appreciate the help.
