well first thing that i can think of is that it will have the black
drum module(version 2.0) the next thing you would want to look for is
that it will have a support rod that runs across the rack from one
leg to the other, and i believe that the updated version has tp-80
pads, instead of its predecessor the tp-60's,if you search the
archives in this group you will find alot of post especially some
from walt(or my dtxpress tech support as i like to call him (lol)
that describe in pretty good detail what to look for, anyways these
are the things that come to mind in distinguishing the new from the
older version..

hope this helps,
               sam(otacon28)

also, there is a copy of the brochure for the newer version in the
Photos section of this group. It was released last fall so chances
are the the used market has the older model, but as Sam and I can
tell you, it can be expanded. Walt

The brain is the same in new version (if we're talking about
DTXpress) and they're both red. The change is pads and rack. The new
pad set is called DTPK9A (old one was DTPK9), and the new rack is
called RS60A (versus RS60).

DTPK9
-----
5 x TP60
2 x PCY60
1 x KP60
1 x HH60

DTPK9A
------
1 x TP80S (dual)
4 x TP60
1 x PCY80S (dual)
1 x PCY60
1 x KP60
1 x HH60

Here is a link: http://www.drumcentral.com/navbar-
electronicdrumsets.htm

The old version (of DTXpress) and new version (of DTXpress) is priced
the same.

What Sam mentioned is DTXV2 - that's what I have; it is somewhat
higher-end and more expensive than DTXPress and it's discontinued I
believe. If you can find it; it's better than DTXpress - but it's NOT
DTXpress.
