Scan the manuals?

Scan the manuals?

2002-03-01 by Wicks, Ben

This e-mail is subject to the disclaimer set out below.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Does anyone have the time to scan in their manual and post it on the web
somewhere? It would only take an hour os so and could be posted as a series
of graphics file. Then every time some needs a manual we can direct them to
the site. Also if you are answering a question and need to refer to the
manual you could copy the page, mark on the relevant bit and e-mail it to
the person asking the question.

There's no chance that Yamaha would give anyone agro about their copyright.

I would do it but my second child is due to arrive very soon! Mind you I
might have a few sleepless nights spare!!

Cheers

Ben

Re: [DTXpress] Scan the manuals?

2002-03-01 by Walt

Hi Ben,

I did start to scan in some pages, and they can be
found in the Files section of the group. Since
they're are so many figures in the manual, I though
that it was better to scan them as an image, rather
than as just text, which takes a little longer to
scan, as you have to massage each page a bit to reduce
its size.

What I would invite folks to do is pick a page or two
and add them to what is already there, so no one
person has to try to handle all 90+ pages. The end
result of this cooperative effort will be (as you
suggest) something that many people could use.

Thanks, Walt

RE: [DTXpress] Scan the manuals?

It would be better to generate the DTXpress manual as an Adob Acrobat PDF file to make downloading and viewing easier

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
