Wiring Question

Wiring Question

2002-04-21 by drumminbrian

Hi!
I'd like to start out this post with a resounding "Thank You" for
all of the useful tips and advice. I do not post often, but I do
visit every day.
I'm actually a DTX v2.0 user, but I find that the DTXpress group
is alot more active than the DTX group. I have a DS9 kit which came
with one less floor tom pad than the DS10.I thought, when I bought it
that I'd get one stereo pad for the snare and four mono pads for the
toms and hi hat. I actually got two mono and three stereo pads.(LUCKY
ME!) When I initially set it up, I used a mono pad at the hi-hat and
the first tom and stereo pads for the snare and toms two and three.
I have since added a Hart Dynamics (dual trigger)Accupad as a
snare drum, a Series Ten ride cymbal w/bell, a crash and a Hart Bass
drum. Because the folks at Hart are most familiar with Roland and
Alesis modules and do not provide a wiring suggestion for Yamaha
products, I'm writing in the hopes of getting some wiring advice for
the optimum set up.
When I got the Accupad, I used input two(tom 1) for the head
trigger and input one(snare)for the rim trigger. I then used the
Yamaha stereo pads in inputs 3,4,and 5 for the toms. I was fine with
this setup, but I have now come to believe that there must be a more
efficient way to wire the kit so that I have the two snare triggers
AND four toms. I tried using 10/9, but when I tried to reassign the
rim trigger, it assigned the rim trigger sound to the bass drum as
well. Please detail cable type used(stereo or mono cable) and
splitter type when replying... Mucho Thanks in Advance,
                                                          Brian
