PCY80 vs PCY60

PCY80 vs PCY60

I'm going to buy anothe cymbal - does anyone know the difference
between the PCY60 (which came with my kit) and the PCY80 (not the
PCY80S)?

Their both single Zone pads. Some Yahama blarb that I have say's the
PCY80 is "a single zone pad" and the PCY60 is "a single zone pad that
offers a truly remarkable feel". Hmm sounds like the same pad to me.
Same goes for the difference between the TP60 and the TP80. Perhaps
the pickups are better in the 80s. But then wasn't everything better
in the 80s?

Although you've explicitely said "not the PCY80S" - I have one PCY80S
one PCY60 one PCY10. PCY80S and PCY10 seem to have softer rubber thus
less acoustic noise. I assume (but I cannot confirm) PCY80 has the
same softer rubber.

I recently bought a DTXpress kit for what I think was a huge bargain - 4 months
old for $900, and it came with an extra PCY80S, throne, sticks, kicker, and
Roland headphones. Anyway, besides the point :-(

I can't feel much difference between the PCY80S and the PCY60, but this could
be because I am new to drumming and have never played an electronic kit. I
might feel different after playing a few weeks.

So far I am very pleased with the kit - the sounds are great, and the kit seems
able to withstand some heavy whacking, which is cool.
