It has been quit quiet around here for a while, so here's a
suggestion for some discussion...

While sitting behind the DTXpress I can imagine (still haven't bought
it, wish my boss could pay me the money from my summer job sooner)
feeling a bit "naked". 'Cause lets be honest, it isn't very
impressive to look at on a stage. It doesn't have the shiny chrome
lugs and rims and neetly polished cymbals. It's completely black and
grey.

Do any of you have thought on how to improve the appearance of the
kit? For instance, could it be possible to trigger lighteffects when
you hit a pad (I'm just pondering a bit here...) to have a nice
audienceblinder in front of my kick trigger, strobe's on the crash
and lasers on the toms. That would mean one hell of an impressive
solo. I know I went a (tiny) bit overboard here, but then again... I
have these sweet beautifull dreams about me, a dark stadium, a
transparant kit with neon-blue ringshaped lamps inside all eight of
the toms and two extremely bright lamps in both my bass drums and all
lights are triggered by the sound of the drum, an audience of 40.000
beautifull women in their bikini's, and playing a freaky doublebass
improvisation on the solo from In-a-gadda-da-vida. :-D Yeah, I know I
have great taste ;-D (and a wild imagination)

But seriously, if you have any cool ideas let me know. It's always
fun to de some creative kitimprovement

ok first off i laughed my ass off when i read your post man'' thanks
for the laugh, anyways i don't know how much help it may be ,but what
about maybe changing the arrangement of the pads,or even
experimenting with the rack design a lil??? i don't know how much
help that may be ,but if all else fails the light show idea might be
a cool way to go.. just experiment though, and if you don't like the
outcome you can always put everything back the way it was..

later,
     sam(otacon28)

(my new quote is "when in doubt add more triggers")

If you stretch a piece of white cloth between the
front uprights (like bed sheet type material), then
you can mount a laser just below your throne seat and
project it on the backside of the cloth. Of course,
you males may want to wear suitable protection to
prevent inadvertent neutering.....
