DTXpress v's DTXpressII

DTXpress v's DTXpressII

Is the older DTX still compatible with these newer
DTXII sound racks?

What i'm askingis is could you potentially go out an
buy a second hand DTXII module and replace an
exisiting DTX sound rack.

Hi Jay,

The new DXTpress II module should support all of the
pads that are included in the DTX system, but it may
be some time before the DTXpress II modules hit the
used market. Walt

So is anyone wondering if the TP65s will work with the DTXpress? I know I
am! Tired of single zone pad ...

Is anyone using the Pintech Concertcast dual zone snare? I would like to
know how it works with the original DTXpress.

hello ,
i'm not sure on the tp65's question on compatabitly with the
dtxpress module,but i don't see why it wouldn't.. i've have used a
good bit of various trigger pads(from different manufacturers as
well) with my dtxpress modules, and really never had any problems that
couldn't be adjusted on the settings of the modules, now as afr as
the dual zone concertcast, it actually works quite well with the
module ,i did have to adjust the settings in the module for my
particular liking triggering wise, but that was about it... i use the
pintech ax-14 (picollo style) snare on my kit now,but both have
worked well

hope this helps you out,
        sam(otacon28)

Thanks for the reply ... I was wondering if the 3 zone triggers would
interface with the DTXpress brain on a standard stereo cable.

Thanks for the info on the Pintech snare as well ... I am watching e-bay and
Drumbalaya for a used one that is in good shape.

Re: [DTXpress] DTXpress v's DTXpressII

2002-09-21 by Walt

Hi Scott,

I'll echo Sam's comments on the Pintech triggers,
although I did have one of their rubber ones (is that
the SE series?), and I thought that its rim trigger
was about as temperamental as the TP80Ss are - it went
into eBay. The mesh head (SE - ST series)pads seem to
work fine. I have a single, a double, and a kick from
Pintech, and with minor tweaking of the trigger
parameters, you're off and running.

As for the three zone pad and the DTXpress module, I
would guess that it may hook up as a dual zone,
although I would have no idea which two that would be.
That's maybe a question to ask Yamaha (714-522-9000)
about before you invest any money. I think they're
using similar triggering circuitry to what Roland uses
in their 3 zone ride. Does this mean that the
DTXpress II module will support all 3 zones of the
Roland ride?
Hum.m.m.m.m.
