Output vs monitor volume levels

Output vs monitor volume levels

2000-02-07 by pdk

Is there a way to increase your headphone level while playing, without also
increasing the sound going out to your amp? For example, if you wanted to
hear yourself a bit better without drowning out your buddies.

Not without a seperate headphone amp or volume controles on the main speakers.
A dirt cheap and nasty option would be to wire up a jack adapter with a resistor in the circuit, then plug your output to the main speakers through that. But I wouldn't recommend it.

I found a pair of Jensen headphones with a volume control and mute button
right in the cord. If I set the volume in the middle to begin with, I figure
I'll have room to move up or down. Only problem is, they're not the best
headphones. Okay, but at $29 Canadian you can't expect much.
