Help, Can't Change Keyboard Voices

Help, Can't Change Keyboard Voices

2002-12-19 by saboricua81 <saboricua81@yahoo.com>

Well I'm trying to create a kit and use my kick drum to trigger a
bass line and I can't change the voice. I change the midi channel to
something other than 10 but all I get is piano. When I try to select
the midi note number all I get is a pitch change. I want to be able
to change a note every time I hit the kick so I can create a bass
line or trigger the line all at once with one hit of the kick. I'd
like to be able to do the same with a cymbal for strings or guitar or
something. Any help will be greatly appreciated. The manual seems to
be pretty vage. By the way I'm using the DTX 2.
                          Thanks,Mike

Hi Mike,

The DTX's default to piano has a long history in this group.
Message #1120 in the archives contains a summary of the various
suggestions for correcting it and other MIDI problems (channel and
note #, meldy vs. drumV, etc.). It might help, or at least give you
ideas.
