its about that time...

well, i'm convinced... the dtxpressII is the right e-drum kit for me.
so, i will be placing my order this evening. i was just wondering if
anyone here found an abnormally great price for the dtxpressII? i
think the standard price is about $999.95... however, i found a
deal at musiciansbuy.com (
http://www.musiciansbuy.com/yamaha_ds9xpsii_DTXPRESS.ht
m ) for the kit along with a free throne, yamaha bass pedal, apex
full size headphones, and dtxpress instructional book and
cd-rom... all for $999.95. that might be the way to go. has anyone
found a better deals out there for the dtxpressII?

Drum World sells the DTXpress II at $949 but not with all those
extras. I don't know anything about the Apex phones, but even if
they can't compensate for the DTXPU's traditionally low headphone
volume, no harm done really. Hopefully, the free throne will be kind
to you, because you're going to be spending endless hours on it.
Another thing that you might check is shipping. A lot of places
offer free UPS ground above $300(though not necessarily for drum
kits). If Musiciansbuy doesn't, the price break may not look so
good. More important, great to have you aboard.

Good choice, I have the DTX2 for about a month now and I can't get
off it! I did some pretty extensive research before I bought it and
nothing in that price range or even a few hundred more can compare.
That grove check is a feature that a lot of the other e kits don't
have, even expensive one's and that's just one feature. Also that
sounds like a pretty good price because here in N.Y. you only get the
kit for $999 with no extras but like they said beware of shipping
cost's. Hey I wonder if I can get my hand's on the instruction book
and c.d. rom somewere. I just got a manual with mine. If anyone
know's were I can get a hold of one I'd aprreciate it.
Anyway good luck with your kit and your going to love it.
                   Mike in N.Y.

yup... i really cannot wait to get it. anyway, about the crash course
book and cd, i think that it was mentioned earlier in a few posts
back. try this:
http://www.russmiller.com/products2dscc.htm
on the right hand side bar it talks about the dtx edition of the
book. as to how good it is, i will let you know when it is shipped
to me.

thanks for everyone's help!
