You may get problems if the two sounds you are layering are using the same MIDI note number. As long as the 2 voices are assigned to completely separate notes, there should be no problems. There may be other reasons but I can't think of any right now (too many beers last night...) Rim to Pad. This is for the dual-zone pads that you can optionally purchase for the DTXpress (and supplied with the DTX2).
