Hihat Setup

Hi Guys, Being new to this e drum set up i have replaced my Hihat pad on my dtxpress 2 with a mono Koby drums 10" cymbal. When the hihat peddle is up all seems ok, But when i depress the peddle i seem to get double trigger sounds as i play on the cymbal. Any guidance in setup to achieve consistent triggering would be appreciated. I dont seem to have the hihat snare problem experienced with the standard factory setup, The double trigger happens when only playing a rythmn on the hihat cymbal. Regards, Lee.
