Hi John,

Yeah the DTXpress is good kit for the price althought I am having DS12
kit(DTXV2.0). Many good sounds and expecially the songs are cool ones to
play along. Pads feel nice and react almost like real ones but are a bit too
hard. Very bad thing is the kick tower. I had two of them(KP80S) but another
one went dead after two month use! I send it back but haven't got yet a new
one. KP80S rubber is also very hard and it sends vibrations to your leg when
hitted. The other weak link is the hihat(surprise) but you get accustomed to
it. The brain(DTX2 or DTXpress) is good and there are very neat features in
it. Compared to Vdrums the DTX is much more affordable. The complete DS12
set costs about $2200 (four tom pads, snare, hihat, two cymbals, kickpad,
brain) and DTXpress about $1200.
In the future I will be adding my edrums to my acoustic setup(also from
Yamaha). There are also website(my second band) which holds mp3 sound clips
of songs recorded with DTX...enjoy!
