I was going to go out and get myself a DTXpress 2 on Tuesday but reading
that they are being discontinued I'm thinking 'maybe I should wait till the
summer and shell out for the new one'. What does anybody think?

Also, I have been holding out for a while now because I am a Mac user and I
was unsure about the DTXpress 2's ability to trigger midi samples off my
powerbook and whether or not there would be any latency (especially since
it's an old serial cable conection), Opinions welcome.

Hey Birrchwid,

The DTXpress II isn't being discontinued. It's Yamaha's whole
enchilada right now, and, so far as I know, is doing great business.
New product to supplement it should arrive by summer's end. I don't
use a Mac, so I'll lay off the rest of your question, but I do know
that the Yamaha modules and Macs are supposed to be compatible.

The DTXpressII will not be discontinued as yet,Yamaha are
having problems keeping up with the demand and this is 5 months down
the line since I bought mine.

Are you perhaps confusing the DXTREME2 with the DTXPRESS2? The DTXPRESS2 was
just released last summer.. The DXTREME is the one being discontinued.
