Amplifier for DTXxpress

Amplifier for DTXxpress

2000-09-18 by pulitzer@bigfoot.com

I am buying a DTXpress. I assume that I need to buy an amplifier or
monitor with it. I would like it to be able to achieve the volume of
a standard drum kit.

I also would use the amplifier separately as an electric guitar amp a
small portion of the time. (I don't need much volume - about enough
to go with a standard drum kit - or less).

Any thoughts? Also - would anyone buy a different electronic drum
kit if they had it to do over again (It seems to me that for the
price, the DTXpress can't be beat).

Hey there!!!

I have a great suggestion for you. go to this page

http://www.rolandus.com/images/PM-3_L.jpg

and check out the PM-3. It's Great!!! It was made for use with
Rolands's V-drums but works with any E-drum kit. And will acheive
the volume you are looking for. I don't know about doubling as a
guitar amp, but you can try. I'm very pleased with it, and you
don't have to go to the store and explain to some sales men that the
amp is for drums? they really have a hard time figuring out twhy you
would want a keyboard amp for your drums!!! UHHHHH....atleast the
guy I spoke to gave me this blank stare O<O
                                         -

but its a great little system check it out!!

Hi all,
I picked up a Fender KXR 100 keyboard amp used when I bought my DTXpress and
am very happy with it. Good range and plenty of power. Guitars will sound
fine through a keyboard amp as well.

I didn't know about this Roland "drum amp" when I got my kit. Sounds pretty
good as well.
