Yamaha's new edrum products

Yamaha's new edrum products

2003-07-26 by liberatusvirus

Session drummer Stuart McConaghy reports, based on word from his
store's Yamaha rep, that the new Xtreme module still has some bugs
to be ironed out. Yamaha hopes to release the entire DTXtreme II at
WinterNAMM. Apparently they intend to make a big splash with the
module, especially after its prominent introduction in the new Akira
Jimbo DVDs. I would imagine that the PC 150 would accompany this
package.

Rah! Plenty of time to start puttin' the small change in the piggy-
bank!

I must get some of those. I downloaded the snip from Drummerworld,
and the guy is extraordinary. The clave rhythm he keeps going with
his left heel (while still using the hat pedal with his left toe)
while solo-ing is that heady combination of breathtaking and
depressing at the same time... I urge anyone who's not seen it to
check it out.
