Got mine last Nov. for $1475 Canadian (plus tax) after being
a complete pain to comparing prices at four shops. I manged
to swap out one single zone pad for a "demo" dual zone pad
so I could use the snare rim function. Current "street
price" here is $1500.(That's about $1000. US)

For great "roll your own" solutions: http://www.logiztix.com/
I signed up for a membership and got in on a great forum,
cool plans for many types of trigger, and a relatively
active membership that contributes ideas, questions, parts
sourcing, etc. (Glad to see activity here again !)

I have ordered mesh heads for my Gretsch kit so I can
convert to "silent triggers" for the DTXpress. I am sworn to
secrecy by my fellow Logiztix members, but for a mere $20.US
you too can skip all the failed experiments and get tried
and true instructions.
