Rim switch

Rim switch

2003-08-17 by maartmo

Hi i'm new to this group and have a question about my DTxpress.
Somehow the rims don't show up in the voice menu anny more when i
hit them. They also don't sound . I'm using the tp60 pads. I
borrowed this set from a friend of mine and i'm not sure these pads
are able to sound rim shots . He says they should. Can somebody tell
me if that is right ? For the floor tom i use a tp80S and that works
o.k.I tried a factory reset but that didn't solve anything. I even
put the TP80s on the snare trigger. Than the rim doesn't show. Maybe
something wrong with the module ? I hope somebody has some good
advise for me....

Maarten.

Your friend is wrong, I'm afraid. The TP60 pads never had rim
switches. Only the TP80S (as you have found) and the TP65S pads have
them.

Thanks for your reply. I was afraid I broke it.... :) One more
question. When I setup the TP80S as the snare the rim doesn't show
up in the voice menu. Any idea what could be wrong? I don't get it,
because when it's hooked up to the floor tom trigger it does show
up.However, to me it isn't very usefull there....

Is the trigger set up with the correct pad type? Go into trigger edit
(not voice edit) and check the pad type. I have a DTXpressII which is
a little different. If "TP snare" does not work, try "misc 3". And
you are using a stereo cable?

Did you verify that the trigger setup was correctly set to TP80S in the
menu?
