MIDI Connections again (SBLive)

MIDI Connections again (SBLive)

2003-09-19 by yoavf21

HI,

I just got myself the din-midi cable and I try following the info on
dtxpressions to start dtxchanging kits.

My setup is a dtxpress II and a PC running XP and sblive value sound
card.

The problem is I can't see in dtxchange midi setup the out and in
ports - i only have listed:

In Midi in device:
=--------------------
Sb Live! Midi port[d400]

in Midi out device:
=----------------------
Microsoft Midi Mapper
Sb Live! Synth A [D400]
Sb Live! SW Synth[D400]
Sb Live! Synth B [D400]
Sb Live! Midi port[d400]
Microsoft GS Wavetable

I don't know which to choose (and I tried every one of them and
couldn't make it to work).

I read in the archives a message by someone saying he fixed somthing
like this by disabling the game port. Is this possible?

Thanks, Yoav

You have "Sb Live! Midi port[d400]" as Midi In and Midi Out.

Sounds reasonable as the Midi port is the same as game port on a Sb Live!.

OK, I finally got it.

Seems Imissed out a simple but important thing: The cable that says
IN goes to the OUT on the module and vice versa.

Now everything works perfectly.
Hoora.
