Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

I just discovered them at my local drum shop. They are intended for resonant side use so that one can have a conventional look yet be able to mic the kick without cutting a hole.� The blurb on the box suggests that the tension will still affect tuning to some degree. I plan to use 'em both sides, with a Falam Slam patch to protect and add a little attack (feel). I'm not a real hard player so I believe I can get away with this. The head looks exactly like the Pearl mesh , except in white. I have them on order through my dealer...he only had 20" and 22" in stock. (Pearl doesn't offer an18" black head.) Got my Pearl mesh 12" & 14"
heads through Musician's Friend site...cheap.
