ARGGGHHHH!!!!

ARGGGHHHH!!!!

2003-09-29 by brown8700

I need some support guys, as I'm ready to box up the e-drums and pull
out the acoustics!

Two weeks ago I thought I would rebuild my kit. It seems my
programmed kits had taken on so many on-the-gig alterations that they
had become convoluted. So, I purchased new cables, did a factory
reset on both my modules, got new triggers and foam cores and set out
to work.

I took the kit completely apart and gave everything a good cleaning.
I also built a 'Cable management system' using extra clamps and tubes
(it's cool).

But I'm having a hell of a time getting my sounds back, even though I
wrote everything down. It wouldn't have done any good to store them
on the PC as I rerouted just about every pad to a different
module/input than before.

I know I'll get the kit back to it's glory. It's just been a very
frustrating two weeks!

Stephen,

I was just passing by and heard your tale of woe. Yikes, it sounds
like an ordeal, but when it's over, you'll be in better shape than
ever. Just keep reminding yourself of how good it's going to feel to
finish. I can't wait to see the pictures. By the way, I was going to
ask you about the new triggers and foam. I'll just wait a bit. But
please keep us posted.

Well, the best I can do at this remove is offer moral support. Or
morale support. Or amoral support. Your choice. Delete as applicable.

And I bet you have at least one screw/clamp/cable left over, even
though you thought you'd put it all back the way it was, right? In
theory, if you take any complex mechanical or electronic device apart
and put it back together enough times, you should have enough spare
parts to build another one.

Well, It seems that I have gotten my kit back into good working order.
I'll find out for certain tomorrow evening.

Expect a review on the Pintech items shortly.

Brian, expect a call from me to discuss some technical questions.
Everythings working fine and dandy, but I would like to get specifics
from you concerning the manufacturing of these items.

I'll shoot and post some this weekend.

Note to self: get new Batteries for digital camera.
