Drumb and Drumber

2003-10-03 by Erik@Dobbelsteijn.net

Hi,

This is a small contribution for the Drumb and Drumber Advanced Guide to the
DTXpress. I'm not sure if the TP65S config is correct, I didn't measure the
leads but did it entirely on vision. And I didn't open a PCY65 or PCY65S, so
the piezos might be shaped differently actually :)
Any additions/corrections are welcome!
Since these US lawsuits scare the $%@@!$% out of me, I thougt I'd better put
a disclaimer on top. Anyway: do what you like with it, but don't blame me,
I'm just trying to help :)

Erik

Erik,

We'd love to see it, but Yahoo cut off email attachments. If you can,
upload it to the Files section.

The PCY65S, PCY80S and the TP65S all have a piezo (pad) and a Fsr (rim)
switch(es) and not two piezos. There are photos in the photo section of one
opened up.
The PCY65 and the TP65 both have a piezo (pad) only.
The KP-65 has a Piezo (pad) only.
The PCY10 has piezo (pad) only.
The BP80 has two piezo's.

Lawsuits??? If you buy it, you can cut it up, take it apart. Could you
imagine Chevy or Ford sueing somebody for taking there cars apart and
photographing them and modifying them??

If the day ever comes that I receive a letter from an e-drum manufacturer
about be taking apart one of their components and photographing them, is the
day I take out my Sawzall and sledge hammer and beat/cut the components into
dime size bits and then re-photograph them for posting. B- ).

Erik,

I don't have Adobe Acrobat yet or I would update your wonderful
sketch and Stewart, who does have it, has his hands full working on
the manual, so could you please revise your diagram slightly?

The cymbal pad on the right is mislabeled and should be PCY65S. Also,
the PCY65S only has one piezo for the pad voice and one rim switch
FSR ribbon for the rim voice.

Thanks for contributing.
