DTXtreme still available?

DTXtreme still available?

2003-10-25 by Nick Carroll

I once asked the question, why don't I read about anyone on this
bulletin board upgrading from the DTXpress to the higher-optioned
DTXtreme? I think I was told that the DTXtreme is no longer being
made. But my supplier here in Adelaide, Australia, begs to differ. He
reckons he can get a brand new DTXtreme in for me if I want one. Does
anybody know if the DTXtreme is still a goer?

Nick,

The DTXtreme I is long-departed, and a new one is waiting in the
wings. You can't score one here unless you get lucky on ebay. I've
heard of some Canadian stores, as well as some European stores, that
still have some of the old product left, but no US stores receive
supply anymore. A few of the webstores, like SameDayMusic, continue
to advertise it with "a price too low to print," but they don't have
any in stock and don't have a delivery date. They may be acting on
speculation about the new model. If your Adelaide supplier can
procure one for you, make sure that it is intact and that you get a
price commensurate with its lame duck status.
