Piedog online Kit Order.

2003-11-09 by hotstockuk

I ordered my DTXPRESS2 kit 3 weeks ago now from Piedog.I was told it
would be 2 to 7 days befor dilivery. They then tell me after many
emails requesting info, that they are waiyting for a dilivery from
Yamaha. Does anyone know if Yamaha have some sort of dilivery back
log.3 weeks seems a very long time. HELP. Thanks guys Paul.

Hi Paul,

I've noticed that a few stores in the US have backordered the
DTXpress II; it has sold really well. The other wrinkle is that the
DTXpress IIISP is scheduled to make its debut in Japan at the end of
the month (check out the pic on our front page and search our
archives for information). I've been told by Yamaha that its birthday
in the states will be January. I would think that the UK would see it
around that time, too. If the wait for the DTXpress II is going to be
much longer, you might consider holding out for the III, which will
come in two versions--the aforesaid SP and an STD version, which will
resemble the II for the most part. I wish I had more information.
Other than asking other Yamaha dealers whether they have the II in
stock now (I doubt that any of them would tell you about the III,
even if they knew), and cancelling with Piedog if one of them does,
I'm at a loss. Maybe a UK member will be able to make a suggestion.

When I bought my DTXpressII (back in April) everywhere in the UK was
quoting 6-8wks delivery time due to Yamaha's inability to keep up
with demand. Stores are still quoting that sort of lead time for
parts such as pads too. Couple this with the fact that Yamaha are
almost certainly letting stock levels of the II fall before the
release of the DTXpressIII, I can see you having a while to wait yet.
