Just played the DTXpress III

Well I just got back from the music store. I went there to order the dtxpress III cymbals, and to my surprise, they had the kit set up as a demo. I own the Dtxpress I so my impressions are a little outdated, but I thought those of you outside Japan might want to hear about it. The kit I played had a hi-hat stand(which I found useless) and three cymbals; two crash and a ride. one crash is not in stereo. All the cymbals have stoppers on the stands. And the stands diameter is much smaller than what's on my kit, so it looks like im in a little trouble when trying to fit them onto my kit's clamps. The rack seemed quite strong and sits pretty low, but I think you can adjust it to sit high. But one thing that has bothered me from the start in e drums, is that all the clamps are PLASTIC. The way things happen to me on the road, I'll have to replace many of the clamps as they strip out. Ummmm.....there were a couple of new sets on the brain, but all I can remember is one "Japanese" which seems to be Taiko drums. I think most people in this group know a lot more about the III than me already. I just thought I'd let you know my thoughts. So, at this point I'm facing a personal delima, buy the kit for 155,000 yen or spend who knows what to accomodate the cymbals into my DTX I. IF you have any questions, I'll try to answer as best as I can. Jon in Japan
