DRUMS ARE MESSING UP !! HELP!!

DRUMS ARE MESSING UP !! HELP!!

2003-11-26 by JAYMZ

HI all ... I was wondering how to set my module back to default
settings and sounds... i have the dtxpress2 mod, was playing the
kit ... all was well .. took a little break , came back and it
sounded like i was playing in a tunnel yet all the reverb settings
and everything else were untouched. I have to play tonight with the
band , and need my kit!!! please help! I just need to know how to
get the mod back to "out of the box" new, once there i can reprogram
my kits lost.

thanks for your time ... Jaymz Hughes

K James, to go back to factory set. Press the Utility button on the
module and then the up/down values until you reach factory setting -
it will say this in text. Then press save and you will get back to
factory settings. There is however a way to overcome your problem
without factory reset I'm sure others will know here, but i have
only had my dtxpress for 1 day!

OK... I figured out how to do a factory reset , but that did not
help.... it still sounds really low volume, and the bass drum is
barely there, even when the volume knob is cranked , and still sounds
like a weird reverb setting yet i tried to change that too... to no
verb , but still sounds like im in a tunnel i hope i did not spend 2
grand for this thing to poop out on me not even 2 mos after getting
it. i still dont even know wht happened , as i saud before , i was
fine , i took a break come back hit them and poop...dag blurnit.

Jaymz,

Let me ask a couple of easy questions: Have you shut the module off
for a minute or so and turned it on again? Whether you're listening
through headphones or an amp, have you checked the cable connections?
If am amp, is the phenomenon duplicated through phones, and vice
versa? Do you have another power supply that you can swap for the one
that you're using--a universal that you can set exactly to the
Yammie's specs (12V; I don't remember the tip mV or polarity)? It's
extremely rare that one of these things should go south on you so
soon, if ever, but it's possible.

thanks all ... i think i have found the prob, after reseting and
losing all my programmed kits ...it was the headphones!!!! Doh!!!!

live and learn i guess.
Thanks All for the speedy responses... its what makes this group
great.

Jamyz:
Two things to check for:

Make certain that you are in 'LIVE' mode from the utility section.
This will give you greater volume.

Check the 'ROOM TYPE' (Also in the utility section, I believe). This
function sets reverb levels for the entire kit, unlike the individual
pad settings). There is a setting called TUNNELL which sound like you
may be utilizing; albeit unknowingly.
