Can anyone share what they think is the best headphone to fully
appreciate the sound from our electronic drums?

I'm in the market but there are literally hundreds to choose from.
I'll take y'alls recommendations.

Mahalo, (thanks in Hawaiian)

Ken, My personal favorites are the Sony MDR-v700's. High quality
sound, powerfull bass, crystal clear treble. They are realy
comfortable and the tapping of the sticks doesn't bleed through
because they are designed for DJ's who need to hear what is in their
headphones while thousands of watts of pounding bass surounds them.
They are expensive but if you get the extended warranty Sony will
replace them for any problem. They fold up nice and come with a
faggy bag to put them in too!

not only clear high and low but freequences but also as LOUD as you want.
i use them every day in my DTX and in my cubase. Its the best money can buy.

I use the Onkyo DP-600. I used them to play with acoustic drums
(now I use them on the DTX). They are powerful and have a good
quality sound.

Ken,

For the sheer pleasure of listening to anything, someone could make a
good case for the Sennheiser HD650 or the Grado RS-1 or 2. But as
good as they are, high end audio headphones aren't the ones you
should get for e-drums. A simple rule of thumb is to get the best
quality closed/sealed phones (to keep out extraneous noise) with low
impedance (under 100) and high efficiency (to permit adequate volume
levels with modest amplification) that you can afford. Studio phones
will be more durable than the home variety; they often will fold up
conveniently; and they will have one cord that connects to one
earpiece, not two cords that come together under your chin, just
waiting to get yanked when you play. The Sony MDR 7056 is popular, as
is the AKG 240S or, my favorite, the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro. They all
have street prices from $80 to $100.
