I hope this helps...

There is a page in the "trigger" menu that has adjustments for "self rej." and "rej."
Self Reject set to the factory setting of 3 discourages double triggering on a given pad. (Ah-ha!!)
Reject stops other pads from triggering this pad. ( I think that's right??) No real use to you here.
So turn the SelfRej down to 1 or 0, provided that doesn't get you into a double triggering problem. All but the lightest buzz roll will now show up.
You can set Mvel. (Median Velocity: or "how hard do i have to hit this thing??") a bit higher ("Gain" page/"Trigger" menu) than the factory setting of 24. This setting can work like compressor on PA: bringing the quieter sounds up so that delicate ghost notes are more audible. I like a setting of 40 with my favorite snare.
Next page: "Vel Curve " is set to Normal at the factory. The Loud settings act as a kind of compressor function as described above. The Hard settings are for the pounder that naturally hits quite hard...try 'em all??
Remember that the changes made ( and "saved") in the trigger menu will affect all kits, even the factory kits.

I've done some comparison of the Roland and Yamaha brains and it is my observation that the Roland 8 and 10 are capable of finer sensitivity (at a cost) than the DTXpress. It's not the pads, as the TD-5 uses basically identical pads to the DTXpress. I do prefer the mesh heads of the V-drums for playing feel, though a little concerned about the longevity of a mesh head at the tension that i like for the snare. I haven't tried triggered mesh heads into the Yamaha brain...but i will !

On rear of DTXpress head unit, inputs 1-6 have a tiny flick switch which
changes sensitivity from high to low, try that first.

Also in the Trigger set-up menus there is an adjustment called "Gain" with
this maxed out at 99 you should get ghost notes, but you may also want to
raise the minimum signal strength, next to the "gain" value, as the higher
this is the louder your ghost notes will be, but the less range you will
have between quiet and strong strikes.
