Dtxpress III review

2003-12-07 by oldguydrummer

To All:

This was sent to me by a gracious individual who is not a member
here, but will get an invite:

http://www.drummagazine.com/html/modules.php?
op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=443

It is a breif review by DrumMagazine on the new DtxpressIII.

Interesting items not previously note:

-The Special version comes with a curve rack.

-Upgrade soft rubber pads more responsive.

-Available March 2004.

-selection of new audio waveforms that reproduce ultra-realistic
sounds, with a strong concentration on acoustic cymbal sounds

-Ships in single box.

-It has color coded cables....gee where to you think they got that
idea??????

This link does not work. Please give us another one, that is all on one line
or do something so that your e-mail client doesn't put a hard break in the
middle of the link.

Thanks!

I can't seem to paste it without the break either but if you type it
in it works.

Oh for crying out loud. You can't paste the link into your browser's
address bar in two pieces?

Nope... The only workaround is to type the whole thing in, which I did, and I
can't get that link to work anyway... I'll wait until another review is
linked via a more sensible link. I'm not in a big rush to upgrade my e-drums
at the moment.

Copy the first half then paste it. Then copy the second half and paste
that. Put two and two together. Its not difficult at all.

Yahoo's online text editor also wraps it so the URL parameters end
up on the second line. But if you cut and paste it in two parts, it
works just fine.

New Amp!

2003-12-08 by Stephanie Ellison

Hey Guys!

I finally did it! I got my new amp out of layaway yesterday. I picked up a
Behringer KX-1200 for the e-drums. It is swweeeeet! I had to turn it down
because it was scaring the cat!

It is a 3-way keyboard amp rated at 120-watt with a 15" 150-watt subwoofer
(for extra handling), 5" 120-watt midrange speaker, and a piezo tweeter. It
has 4 channels of inputs/dedicated volume/effects volume control, active
4-band EQ, and a bunch of other stuff. It's said to have a generously
dimensioned power supply for excellent pule reponse. What does this mean?
All I know is, this amp has a very tight power supply (very good damping
factor), and it sounds great for me.

I had the same problem. The link will not proper paste into anything that I
have. The question mark apparently is what is killing it. The solution I
used was to open up Notepad, paste it (it will show up as two lines still),
go to the end of the first line, hit the delete key (which removes the
End-of-Line character), then do a copy and paste into the address bar of
your browser.

It is just a short artical anyway and I hit the highlights.

Any wordwrap routine will assume the query is punctuation, marking
the end of a sentence and a suitable place to wrap text.

Yahoo lets you put HTML tags into items posted here so you can add links etc. I used Yahoo Mail for this posting and so I had to tick the box that says "Allow HTML tags". The link below was achieved by adding the line " [br /][a href="http://www.drummagazine.com/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=443"]Link to Drum Mag[/a][br]" with the square braces replaced with "less than" and "greater than" symbols.

Tricks: Posting Long Links (was Re: [DTXpress] Re: Dtxpress III review)

2003-12-08 by Vernon Graner

two simple solutions:

First, place "<" on the begining and ">" on the end of the link. In many
cases, this will keep the link from being broken by line-wrap, like this:

<http://www.drummagazine.com/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=443>

The other way to do it, is to visit this link:

http://www.tinyurl.com

and paster the URL into their "converter". when you click the "make TINY"
the link is converted and it becomes like this:

http://tinyurl.com/yban

This way, it's so short it won't get busted by word wrap... :)

and, as you can see above, those of us w/o HTML in our email get no link
at all... :)

Thank you SO MUCH, Vern!! Much appreciated. I guess we'll have to wait a
while to get an in-depth review on this drum set.
