Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Hi All,

I've just bought minidisc player. Dtxpress manual states recorded 
data can be dumped straight to cassette player from Lmono output. Has 
anyone tried to dump straight to minidisc? - Minidisc player has an 
optical line-out & mic-in. Anyone know if this is possible?

I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't be able to record 
straight to minidisc, as long as the jacks are in place, as well as 
some sort of automatic limiter/compresser or manual adjustment for 
level. Is the mic input switchable to line level or otherwise 
variable? Someone recently reported on how he recorded practices 
straight to minidisc via a small mixer. Run a search on "minidisc."

Yes, in theory it is possible. I won't be trying this for another 2
weeks or so, but I intend on doing the same thing: running my DTX into
the mic-in of my MiniDisc. But as Ed mentioned, I will be running my
DTX into a mixer, and from the mixer into the mic-in of the MiniDisc.
I've been doing this for over a year with mic'ed acoustic drums,
guitar, bass, and vox and it sounds great. MiniDiscs rock!
