Home studio costs

The price of these home studio programs are nothing compared to what it used to cost to record a simple demo. Many years ago (97) I was in a band that went into a studio to record our first full length cd. $20,000can. later we had 1000 copies and 250 press packages. Last year I got Cubasis(small version of Cubase)for $200can. Now I can record right here in my basement with incredible quality. X-mas morning I got my 9 year old her first guitar. I plugged it into my mixer, along with my DTXtreme's and we recorded our first jam ever !!! (It was a big deal for me) We also were able to send it to all the grandparents in MP3. That is priceless to me and I would have paid triple for it. G
