Hi Thoughtware, I encountered this problem while trying to just play percussion along with a song I had recorded and found a solution on pg. 19 of the manual, item #9, "Change the song but not the drum kit". If you try the solution with the *, it might work. No guarantees, as I didn't try it, but there must be a way around this problem. The songs sound ridiculous on the wrong kit. It would defeat the purpose of having 2 tracks available. Good luck, Rick
