Just got the post from Vernon about his studio and daughter, I went to
open it, and yahoo announces in there scan of the e-mail that the
"bug-bear" virus was attached....just a warning to everyone out
there... anyone else encounter this yet?

Yep, I got it too. My software firewall (ZoneAlarm Pro) neutered it on
receipt so no worries here.

I got the message, but didn't bother opening it. ANYTIME you get a
message from ANYONE (even your mom) with an attachment that they had
not previously told you they were going to send, DELETE it!! They
could always send it again if it was meant to be a good one.

Just FYI: If you look at the full header of that email, you'll see it is
a forged email message. Though the content is a paraphrase of an earlier
message I sent to the list, I did not send this one with the virus.
Here's the details of the header:

I am in Austin, texas, and this message originated in Italy
(vsmtp2.tin.it ) and has my address as "Vernon Graner"
<vern@...>, when I do not use that address...

In effect, someone was infected with an outlook-addressbook virus that
chose an email they had recived, attached a virus to it and sent it out.
Just wanted to make it clear that it was *not* me that sent any virus
anywhere...

Hey, Vern.

I didn't think the e-mail was from you personally. I knew that someway, somehow, you got picked to be the subject matter of a virus attack...luckily, as far as i know, none of us have been infected, and life will continue to go on. I do appreciate you taking the time to re-assure us all though!

See ya around the boards...

Vern,

I was about to lay into you mercilessly for the fun of it. Luckily, I
didn't have the time. By the way, remember when I was the Liberatus
VIRUS at DTXpressions? Ah, the good old days.
